About me
Engineer by training, builder by nature.
I am Md. Rasel Rana, Manager (Technical) at Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL). My work spans telecommunications, power systems, software and robotics, and I take pride in transforming technical ideas into reliable, real-world systems.

Story
From circuits to networks
My journey in engineering began with electronics. From my first circuits and hardware projects in 2011, I developed a deep interest in how technology works, which led me to earn a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, in 2018.
During my campus years, robotics became my passion. I served as President of the DUET Robotics Club and Vice Chairman (Technical) of the IEEE DUET Student Branch, convened DUET TECHFEST 2017, a national robotics event, and won national titles at ROBOLUTION 2016 and Cybernauts 2016. Between 2013 and 2017, I also trained students in robotics, drones, PLCs and microcontrollers through workshops at universities across the country.
I began my professional career on 22 April 2018 at Summit Power Limited, working in plant operations at the company's 157 MW power plant in Narayanganj and later at its 300 MW power plant in Gazipur. On 14 November 2021, I joined Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL), where I now serve as Manager (Technical). I lead the field operations team that delivers BTCL services, work on GPON access networks and contribute to technology solutions developed for BTCL’s internal operations
Since 2021, I have also built full-stack web applications with JavaScript, React, Next.js and MongoDB. Hands-on work across diverse projects, combined with practical experience on live telecommunications networks, has shown me that electronics, networks and software are deeply connected. For me, they share one goal: building reliable systems that serve people well.
Approach
How I work
Learn by building
From robots to web applications, I understand a system best by building it myself, testing it and improving it with my own hands.
Reliability first
Power plants and telecom networks taught me that people depend on the systems I work with, so they must run safely and predictably.
Clear communication
Accurate reports, clear coordination and open communication with teams and management matter as much as the technical work itself.
Share what you know
Training students and supporting my team is part of my work, not an extra. Knowledge grows when it is shared.
