Journey

The path so far

From my first electronic circuits to managing telecommunications services at BTCL: the milestones that shaped my career as an engineer.

2011 — 2013

Foundations in electronics

Where my interest in circuits, hardware and programming began.

My engineering journey began in 2008, when I started my technical studies in electronics. By 2011, that study had turned into hands-on work, as I began building electronic circuits, designing hardware and writing my first programs.

By 2013, these years had become a period of intense learning. I spent countless hours experimenting with microcontrollers, sensors and embedded systems, learning to design, test and troubleshoot circuits through hands-on practice. Hard work and persistence became the habits that shaped my approach to engineering, and that foundation prepared me for the robotics and automation work that followed.

2013 — 2018

University and robotics

Earning my B.Sc. at DUET and competing in national robotics contests.

I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur. From 2014, robotics became my passion. I competed in national contests, winning ROBOLUTION 2016 and Cybernauts 2016, and earned podium finishes at competitions hosted by RUET and IUT and at the IARC Bangladesh Zonal round.

I served as President of the DUET Robotics Club and Vice Chairman (Technical) of the IEEE DUET Student Branch, and convened DUET TECHFEST 2017, a national robotics event. I graduated in 2018 with a thesis on control techniques for high-speed position control systems.

2015 — 2017

Sharing what I learned

Teaching robotics, drones, PLCs and microcontrollers to students across the country.

Alongside my studies, I worked as a part-time instructor in PLCs and microcontrollers at technical training institutes, teaching students and young engineers through hands-on courses. At the same time, I taught robotics and programming to members of the DUET Robotics Club, helping them build their first robots and develop the skills to compete.

I also conducted drone-making training at KUET and RUET for the Bangladesh Science Society, and led line follower robot workshops at DUET and the EMK Center, Dhanmondi. Teaching others taught me as much as any classroom.

2018 — 2021

Power generation

Operating 157 MW and 300 MW power plants at Summit Power Limited.

On 22 April 2018, I began my professional career at Summit Power Limited as Assistant Deputy Manager (Technical), working as a shift engineer in operations at a 157 MW engine-based power plant. In 2021, I moved to the company's 300 MW plant.

I controlled generation equipment, kept output in line with national grid requirements, prepared daily, monthly and annual performance reports, and coordinated with the National Load Dispatch Centre. Power plants taught me that reliability is not optional.

2021 — Present

Software and continuous learning

Expanding from hardware programming into software, networking and modern web development.

My background in hardware programming, from microcontrollers to PLCs, gave me a natural path into software. In 2021, I began studying programming languages such as JavaScript and Python, and completed professional courses in networking and web security to strengthen my foundation.

I soon started building full-stack web applications with React, Next.js and MongoDB, covering everything from front-end design to database architecture. This website is one of the projects I have built along the way.

For me, learning never stops. Today I am exploring artificial intelligence and modern development tools, and I make a habit of learning something new every day.

2021 — 2026

Joining BTCL

Assistant Manager (Technical) at Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited.

On 14 November 2021, I joined Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) as Assistant Manager (Technical). My first posting was as Assistant Manager (Phones) at Central Cantonment, Dhaka, followed by Assistant Manager (Switch) at the same office.

I also held additional charge as Manager (Phones), Central Cantonment. These years gave me hands-on experience with GPON access networks, switching and the day-to-day work of delivering telecommunications services.

2026 — Present

Manager (Technical)

Leading field operations and contributing to technology development at BTCL.

On 1 June 2026, I was promoted to Manager (Technical) and posted as Manager (Phones), Central Cantonment, Dhaka. I lead the field operations team that delivers BTCL services to customers and work on GPON access networks.

I am also deepening my knowledge of BTCL's digital services, including Alaap, BTCL's own internet calling app, and its cloud-hosted IP PBX service for businesses.

Alongside my operational role, I have become involved in BTCL's internal technology development initiatives, contributing to work on the development of BTCL's MVNO service, network infrastructure and the security of software systems used in daily operations. Each project gives me the opportunity to learn in depth and to apply my experience in electronics, networking and software to the future of telecommunications at BTCL.
