Team DUET Robo Express, champions of the Cybernauts 2016 Line Follower Robot Contest

I founded and led DUET Robo Express, the second robotics team in the history of the DUET Robotics Club and one of its most successful. Formed in 2014, soon after the club itself was founded, the team brought together friends who had met through the club, students from the Departments of EEE and ME who shared a passion for building autonomous robots for national inter-university competitions.

Team members: Md. Rasel Rana (Founder and Team Leader, EEE), Emran Hossain (EEE), Ananda Kumar Saha (ME), Krisna Kanta Roy (EEE) and Imranul Haque (CSE).

Our journey began at Mecceleration 2014 at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in September 2014. Within two years, DUET Robo Express had become one of the most consistent robotics teams in the country, earning six podium finishes at national competitions:

Champion, Line Follower Robot Contest, Cybernauts 2016, North South University (October 2016)
Champion, Robo Race, ROBOLUTION 2016, MIST (April 2016)
1st Runner-up, Maze Solver Robot Competition, Robo-Droid Championship 2016, RUET (May 2016)
2nd Runner-up, iARC, Global Robotics Challenge 2016, IARC Bangladesh Zonal (2016)
2nd Runner-up, Robotics Competition, Mecceleration 2015, IUT (August 2015)
3rd Place, Robotics Contest, RoboTour & Programming Contest 2015, RUET (March 2015)

Our two championships stood out. At ROBOLUTION 2016, we won the Line Follower Race from a field of 114 registered teams, completing the final course in 2 minutes 47 seconds. At Cybernauts 2016, our robot topped all three rounds among 95 teams and finished the final in just 57 seconds without a single restart.

As Team Leader, I guided the team's robot design, electronics and programming, and led our preparation and strategy for each competition, from line followers and robo races to maze solvers and autonomous challenges. Our success was featured in the Daily Ittefaq ("Champion Robo Express", 25 May 2016) and the Daily Kaler Kantha (21 December 2016), and helped put DUET on the national robotics map.
