Competition · 2nd Runner-up
Global Robotics Challenge 2016 (IARC Bangladesh Zonal)
Organized by Engineering Students Association of Bangladesh (ESAB), 2016

The Global Robotics Challenge 2016 was the Bangladesh Country Round of Techkriti, the annual technology festival of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, organised for the fourth consecutive year by the Engineering Students' Association of Bangladesh (ESAB). The 2016 edition featured three main segments: the International Autonomous Robotics Challenge (iARC), International Robots Got Talent (IRGT) and the Techkriti Innovation Challenge (TIC), along with a multi-rotor contest. The top two teams in each segment earned a direct place in the Grand Finale of Techkriti '16 in India.
I competed with Team DUET Robo Express in the International Autonomous Robotics Challenge (iARC), where fully autonomous robots had to complete the challenge arena without any human control. Teams of up to five members took part from universities across Bangladesh, and strict rules applied: no damage to the arena or to rival robots, and no changes to a robot until the results were declared.
Our robot finished as 2nd Runner-up in the iARC segment, placing third among the country's competing teams. It was one of the first major results of a year in which DUET Robo Express went on to win ROBOLUTION 2016 and Cybernauts 2016.
