Techfest Bangladesh Zonal 2026 — Innovatex

Techfest, the annual science and technology festival of IIT Bombay and known as Asia's largest, held its Bangladesh Zonal round on 3 October 2026 at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, organised by the DUET Robotics Club. The event was held with Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal, Vice-Chancellor of DUET, as chief guest and Prof. Dr. Ruma, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, as special guest, and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Utpal Kumar Das, Director of Students' Welfare. The top five teams from each segment qualified for the Techfest finals at IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India.

I was invited to serve on the panel of judges for Innovatex, the zonal's innovation competition, where student teams presented their technical projects and ideas. I judged alongside Prof. Dr. Md. Obaidur Rahman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at DUET and Md. Mamun Biswas, Assistant Engineer at Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Company Limited. I also had the opportunity to address the participants and to present awards to the winning teams.

Returning to judge at the DUET Robotics Club, which I once led as President, was a special honour. It was rewarding to see a new generation of engineers building on the culture of innovation the club has always stood for.
