Mecceeration 2015
Organized by Department of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, Islamic University of Technology (IUT), 28 August 2015
Mecceleration 2015 was a national technical festival organised by the Department of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering (MCE) at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur, under the theme "Crank your brain, shift your ideas, accelerate your aptitudes". The festival was inaugurated with Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan, President of the Bangladesh Society of Mechanical Engineers and former Vice-Chancellor of BUET, as chief guest, Mr. David How, Country Representative of IMechE (UK) for Bangladesh, as special guest, and Prof. Dr. M. Imtiaz Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of IUT, as chief patron.
I competed with my team, Robo Express, in the Line Follower Robot competition, where autonomous robots raced to complete a complex track marked with sharp turns and intersections as quickly and accurately as possible.
Our robot finished as 2nd Runner-up, winning a prize of Tk 10,000, along with a further Tk 2,000 award from the TechShop Robotics Competition. It was one of our team's first national podium finishes, and the start of a run of results that led to championship wins at ROBOLUTION 2016 and Cybernauts 2016.
