President

DUET Robotics Club, Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, November 2016 – April 2018

Receiving the club president’s crest and certificate at DRC FEST 2018, the last event I chaired as President of the DUET Robotics Club

I was elected President of the DUET Robotics Club for the 2016–17 session, serving from November 2016 to April 2018. Founded on 27 February 2014 through the dedication and hard work of senior students, the club had in just a few years become one of DUET's most active student organisations, bringing robotics to the university and winning national recognition for its teams.

Succeeding Rupayan Halder as President, I led the club's activities and its growing community of student members, organising robotics training, workshops and competition preparation, and guiding teams to compete at national inter-university contests. My goal was to build on the club's early achievements, keep that momentum going and help raise DUET's profile in robotics across the country.

During my term, the club co-organised DUET TECHFEST 2017, the university's first science and technology festival, which I led as Convener. It brought more than 700 participants from 35 universities to DUET, and established a tradition that the club has continued almost every year since.

My final event as President was DRC FEST 2018, which I chaired, featuring Line Follower, Robo Fight and Project Showcase competitions, held with the club's faculty advisers, Prof. Dr. Md. Anwarul Abedin, Prof. Dr. Md. Raju Ahmed, Head of the Department of EEE, and Prof. Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Director of Students' Welfare, as special guests. There, I was honoured with the club's crest and certificate in recognition of my presidency.

In April 2018, after one year, four months and ten days in the role, I handed over the presidency to Danial Islam and the new committee. I gave the club my very best throughout, with genuine love for its work, and my affection for DUET and the DUET Robotics Club remains as strong as ever. At the same event, on 8 April 2018, I launched the DUET Aeronautical Society as a sister organisation of the club, dedicated to drone and UAV research and development.
