Leadership
Founding Vice Chairman (Technical)
IEEE DUET Student Branch, Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, February 2017 – March 2018
I served as the founding Vice Chairman (Technical) of the IEEE DUET Student Branch, the university's chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest technical professional organisation. As part of the branch's first executive committee, I helped lay its foundations from February 2017 to March 2018.
In this role, I led the branch's technical programme, planning and coordinating seminars, workshops and technical sessions that connected students with current engineering practice and emerging technologies. Drawing on my own experience in robotics, embedded systems and microcontrollers, I worked to make hands-on learning a central part of the branch's activities and encouraged members to take part in national technical competitions. Among these was a seminar on how to conduct a complete research project, a practical guide for beginners, held on 23 July 2017 with Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, Registrar of DUET, as keynote speaker.
Being part of the team that started IEEE at DUET was a privilege. I gave the role my very best, and I continue to wish the branch and every committee that follows great success in all its work.
