Participants, guests and organisers of the Workshop on Making Drone at DUET, Gazipur

As President of the DUET Robotics Club, I organised and chaired this workshop at my own university to bring drone technology to DUET students. The club organised the event with support from G-Robotics. We were honoured by the presence of Prof. Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Director of Student Welfare, DUET, as Chief Guest, and Prof. Dr. Md. Anwarul Abedin, Department of EEE, as Special Guest, both advisers to the DUET Robotics Club.

The workshop covered how a multirotor drone is built and controlled: the frame, motors, electronic speed controllers, battery and radio system, and the flight controller that keeps the drone stable. One session focused on the APM flight controller and its power module, which supplies regulated power to the controller while measuring the battery's current and voltage.

Participants then saw the theory in action. They examined a racing quadcopter and a camera drone up close, and followed an outdoor demonstration of how a drone and its controller are set up before flight.

The main trainer was my friend Nahid Ferdous, Founder of G-Robotics and Research Associate on a USAID project. I chaired the programme and also presented parts of the session, drawing on our own drone-building work at DUET.

The workshop closed with certificates for the participants and a group photo with the guests and organisers, marking one of the DUET Robotics Club's most popular events of the year.
