A two-day workshop at ZHSUST, the first on hardware and robotics in its CSE department, where I introduced students to Arduino programming and basic robot building.
- Electronics basics
- Arduino fundamentals
- Microcontroller programming
- Sensors and motors
- Basic robot building

The Binary Club of the Department of CSE at Z. H. Sikder University of Science & Technology organised this two-day workshop in Shariatpur. It was the department's first ever workshop on hardware and robotics. The idea came from Abdul Kader, Assistant Professor and Chairman of the department, who arranged it on his own initiative for his students. A group of dedicated students worked hard behind the scenes to make it happen.
The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of Arduino and robotics: basic electronics, how the Arduino platform and its microcontroller work, writing and uploading programs, and connecting sensors and motors to build a simple robot.
I led the training together with Uzzal Sarker, a younger colleague whose courtesy and dedication made him a pleasure to work with.
Reaching the campus was an experience in itself. The journey took us across the Padma River by speedboat, a first for me. The warm hospitality of the teachers and students made the two days truly memorable, and I am grateful to Masud Parves for looking after us throughout our stay.
The day after the workshop, a local newspaper in Shariatpur reported on the event and mentioned my university, DUET, by name. It was a proud moment for me, and I hope the students will build on this start and excel in co-curricular activities alongside their studies.
